SUMMARY 

Entry level Machine Technician is responsible for processing and maintaining the overall operation of the machine for our Thermoforming Department.
 
 
 

Essential Functions

  1. Load an extruded roll of plastic, per specs, onto the bed of the machine.
  2. Feed raw material into the former, I-press, and Trim press.  
  3. Diagnose production problems and resolve. Be able to recommend corrective action to Maintenance or Crew Leader., if needed.
  4. Perform minor maintenance and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment, and material handling systems.
  5. Monitor and control product weight, product color, and product part thickness.
  6. Reduce mold change and set-up time.
  7. Optimize machine cycle times.
  8. Develop and document mold set-up procedures.
  9. Assist with set-ups, start-ups and preventative maintenance, as needed.
  10. Understand and operate all heat, and cooling systems.
  11. Understand Thermoforming schedule and adjust roll production to pounds required.
  12. Monitors production.
  13. Operate material handling equipment.
  14. Assist Quality Control by making the necessary corrective action. Ensure proper notes, of any irregularities.
  15. Report and work closely with the shift supervisor, with regards to packer requirement and their needs.
  16. Will be required to scan new rolls, into QAD system.
  17. Check gauges at roll change.
  18. Take empty racks back to the Extruding dept, and for future use, and place in designated area.
  19. Assist with overall housekeeping, of the department, and place appropriate items back in designated area.
  20. Perform all shift change responsibilities.
  21. Stop Thermoforming line in the event of an emergency.
  22. Report any and all potential safety related issues.
  23. Ability and knowledge on how to use general hand tools.

 

Machines that you will run.

  1. Lyle’s In-Line Thermoformers.
  2. Lyle’s I-Press.
  3. Lyle’s Trim Presses.
  4. Tow motor (requires Landmark Training and License)
  5. Small capacity trim scrap grinder.

 

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  1. High School Education or GED preferred.
  2. Basic hand tool knowledge.
  3. General computer skills.
 
 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and responsible for multiple shifts. Weekend, overtime and evening hours may be required depending on business conditions.
