Industrial Production Manager
Job Summary:
Landmark Plastic, a leading manufacturer of plastic products used in the horticulture industry, is looking for an Industrial Production Manager. This individual will be responsible for directing shift personnel and controlling production operations for all work crews within their department including but not limited to: continuous improvement of all operations, meeting product quality standards, execution of current production schedules, maintenance of processing standards, enforcement of safety policies and staffing requirements. This is a full-time position. Weekend, overtime and evening hours may be required depending on business conditions. This is a Drug Free Workplace. Job Responsibilities:
1. Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
2. Direct supervision and coaching of shift leaders toward attainment of product quality and production efficiency goals
3. Monitors tooling and machine maintenance requirements; Cooperates and works closely with Maintenance and Tool Room personnel
4. Communicates daily shift production results including reports for downtime, quality and material issues; Coach direct reports in interpretation of data
5. Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems
6. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
7. Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances
8. Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records
9. Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality
10. Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets
11. Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs
12. Reviews and administers individual employee performance reviews and wage adjustments
13. Assists shift leaders and employees in understanding and applying personnel policies in accordance with the Employee Handbook and par quality specifications
14. Review plans and confer with research or support staff to develop new products or processes
15. Institute employee suggestion or involvement programs
 
 
Qualifications:
1. 5-7 years shift supervisor, thin gauge, in-line Thermoforming and/or sheet Extrusion experience preferred
2. Working knowledge of secondary labeling and decorating equipment
3. Maintains a high level of energy and activity for extended periods of time. Willing to work a flexible on-demand schedule
4. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality and interests; learning and motivation
5. Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
6. Must have excellent decision/problem solving skills and communication skills
7. Ability to guide, direct, and motivate subordinates
8. Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships and resolve conflicts
9. High tolerance for stress. Remains stable when working under pressure or opposition
10. Willing to travel as may be required for specific job-related training at machinery suppliers or trade show, etc.
11. Owns personal tools required to perform routine tasks associated within the scope of the position
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
13. Great attitude and a willingness to learn
 
 
Supervisory Responsibility:
Oversees manufacturing processes, coordinates and manages all shift personnel and different work areas within the department to meet/exceed the company’s key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, and Productivity). This includes managing production equipment to produce a product that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations. This includes, but not limited to safety, equipment, production and quality, continuous improvement, development and management of its human resources and any other duties as assigned.
